The Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Artpresents seven emerging Indigenous artists creating works on the uncededterritories of the Coast Salish people in What We Bring With Us, on displayfrom January 29–April 12, 2020. Originally from outside this territory, all ofthe artists address their relationship to the land and kinship founded throughdisplacement in works ranging from photography to performance. In thisexhibition, Guest Curator Maria-Margaretta (Métis) and artists Cheyenne RainLeGrande ᑭᒥᐊᐧᐣ (Nehiyaw), Jake Kimble (Deninu K’ue), Lacie Burning(Kanien’kehá:ka), M.V. Williams (Skwxú7mesh, Wet’suwet’en), Taran Kootenhayoo(Denesułįné, Nakoda Sioux), and Whess Harman (Carrier Wit’at) navigate spaceand negotiate their identities as visitors.
