Join artists MarcusBowcott and Helene Aspinall for a lively illustrated lecture as they share thestory behind the creation of Marcus’ monumental public art installation, TransAm Totem. Gain insight into his creative process and the complexities of creatingpublic art. Trans Am Totem, composed of five real scrap cars stacked upon anold growth cedar tree, was installed in Vancouver as part of the Biennale in2015. Marcus Bowcott spent his early career as a deckhand and longshoreman. Hereceived an MA in art from the Royal College of Art in London and was aninstructor at Emily Carr University of Art + Design and Capilano University formany years.
