Spooktacular Newton

And don’t forget to grab your free pumpkin by donation on your way out, all proceeds going to the Surrey Food Bank. Be sure to come in your costume!

“M” The Magic Show

Five world-acclaimed and award-winning stage magicians will appear for one night only (and then vanish into thin air!) Saturday, October 21 at Burnaby’s Michael J. Fox Theatre. This unique blend of cutting edge illusions, mystery, music, comedy, audience participation (you’ve been warned!) and precision sleight of hand is definitely not your average birthday party magic show.
The five great talents appearing include: Award-winning Kel whose signature spellbinding manipulation act has sold out previous performances at the Michael J. Fox and Massey theatres; Wes Barker, who has been seen live and on television world-wide, with appearances on Penn & Teller: Fool Us, America’s Got Talent, and Wizard Wars; North America’s hottest comic magic team Trevor & Lorena whose more than 20 international awards include Siegfried and Roy’s Golden Lions Head at the world magic seminar in Vegas; and Vitaly Beckman, whose performance includes Super Vision, where he demonstrates his ability to read books and newspapers from a 50-foot distance.
A Kelvin Ng Magic presentation, partial proceeds from the show will be donated to the YMCA’s annual campaign that focuses helping kids, youth, seniors, and adults to get access to community programs like swimming, high quality child care, education and after school programs that they wouldn’t normally be able to have access to on their own. Each ticket purchased will help fund families and help them grow in our community that will lead to healthier and happier lives.

Boobyball

Singing for a Cause- A Fund-Raiser for the Stephen Lewis Foundation Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign (Lions Gate Chapter)
On Sunday, October 22nd at 3:00 PM at Highlands United Church (3255 Edgemont Blvd, North Vancouver) the Marcus Mosely Chorale will present an afternoon of song, with guests from the West Vancouver School District Honours Choir.
“This campaign was developed to assist Grandmothers in Africa who have been left to raise the next generation as a result of the AIDS epidemic,” explains MMC artistic director, Marcus Mosely. “It’s appropriate and heartwarming for the Chorale to join with Canadian students in supporting this very worthy cause”.
